On 15th and 18th January, 2024, a delegation comprising five (5) members of the ASIM Project Supervisory Board (ASIM-PSB) from five partner universities paid a courtesy visit to Prof. John Lupala, the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academic, Research and Consultancy and Prof. Evaristo Liwa, the Vice Chancellor of Ardhi University respectively. The delegation included Prof. Innocent Musonda (the overall ASIM Coordinator from the University of Johannesburg-SA), Prof. David Olukanni (ASIM Coordinator from Covenant University-Nigeria), Prof. Theresa Mkandawire (ASIM Coordinator-from the University of Malawi-MUBAS), Prof. Sam Zulu (ASIM Technical Partner from Leeds Beckett University-UK), and Dr. Rehema Monko (ASIM Coordinator from ARU-Tanzania). The ASIM-PSB held their annual meeting at ARU (from Jan. 15 - 19, 2024), hosted by Dr. Rehema Monko.
The ASIM Project sponsorship is offered in three mobility forms; Degree seeking mobility (for PhD. & Masters degree programs). Currently, ARU has 2-PhDs and 6-Masters students. One of them graduated from the MPM program in 2023. Credit seeking mobility: This is an exchange of postgraduate students for up to 6 months of training on *research methodology*. Currently, 2 credit seeking mobilities from ARU are at MUBAS. Three from UJ have been selected to join ARU, and 2 more from ARU have been selected to join UJ. Staff Mobility: This involves staff exchange for short terms of one to three months. ARU has so far sent Dr. Luvara to MUBAS and Dr. Monko to UJ. ARU also received 2 staff mobilities from UJ in 2023.
